fiction from Night Train

A boy. A girl. A scene from history.

Today's piece, "Luxury Fort" by Louise Krug, is interesting and brief. And yet it manages to pack so much into such little space--commentary about American culture, tourism, misunderstanding of the past. Have you been like the brother and sister in the story seeing without seeing, or are you a more astute observer, like the narrator?

  1. This was a really interesting story--I liked how it captured a moment and the characters in so little space without needing much of a plot.

  2. I'm glad you enjoyed it. I thought it did a lot of hard work in a short space too. And I enjoyed the writing as well. --Lori
